Bricked Tread is recommended where wear on the underside of the Conveyor Belt is unavoidable; because either a thicker pulley lagging cannot be used, or the Conveyor Belt is more elastic that what was accounted for in the design phase.
The design is robust and suitable for harsh conditions. This lagging product is currently being used in mining operations which are arguably the most demanding seen anywhere in the world - extremely high belt tensions with very muddy and wet conditions.
